1966 BKPE MUSTANG CLASSIC FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:

Why do you restore the 1966 Mustang bodies instead of using new ones?

A:

Cost and limited availability of body styles. When we designed our Mustang Classic packages, affordability was a primary concern. Due to their wide availability, it is still possible to pick up a complete 1966 Mustang that remains in good shape. This not only allows us to have good bodies that are much cheaper than their new counterparts, but to have as an added bonus most of the parts necessary to build the restored vehicle. Using original vehicles saves us tens of thousands of dollars in the cost of producing this iconic Mustang, allowing us to pass these savings onto our clients. Furthermore, only the convertible body style is available as a new body and we desired to offer our clients all three body styles: coupe, convertible and fastback.

Q:

Does this restoration have the same build quality as your new vehicle builds?

A:

Absolutely. We only choose the finest original bodies on the market and then ensure that any suspect metal, which is exposed during an acid bath, is replaced with the finest restoration metal on the market. We stake our reputation on our Mustang bodies being better than those that left Ford some 45+ years ago. But more than that, we guarantee it with the only bumper-to-bumper warranty in the business.

Q:

Why do you offer the 1965 and the 1966 Mustang?

A:

There are subtle differences between the two cars that cause there to be a great difference in valuation of one year versus the other among Mustang aficionados. We wanted to make sure we had the broadest range of appeal to these two distinct camps. To do this, we offer both cars and allow our clients to choose between them.

Q:

Can I order my Mustang Classic in colors other than what was originally available in 1966?

A:

Unfortunately, no. In the Mustang Classic, we set out to recreate a Mustang that was identical to the original on the inside and out. This necessarily means that we are limited in our color pallet.

Q:

If originality was a criterion for the design of the Mustang Classic, why do you offer a 3-point retractable seat belt as an option?

A:

Safety. Shoulder belts were not available in 1966. Thus, even if you are securely wearing an original-style lap-belt, any collision carries with it the risk of impacting the steering wheel, the dash and/or the windshield. We find this to be too great a risk to the health of our clients. Therefore, we offer our clients a choice to accept the risk of the limited safety offered by only the lap-belt or to order a 3-point safety belt.

Q:

Why do you not provide an entertainment system as standard equipment?

A:

Original AM/FM stereo receivers are rare and expensive. Thus, we wanted to give our clients the opportunity to choose an original looking system or put that same money toward the hidden entertainment system by Sony.

Q:

Where do you put the Sony Hidden Entertainment System?

A:

The Sony Xplode receiver goes into the glove box, the dash speakers remain in the dash behind an original grill, the subwoofer is hidden in the trunk and the rear speakers and amplifier are cleverly hidden below the rear package shelf.

Q:

I see that you offer Mustang Classics based on the 1965, 1966 and 1967 Mustangs. Can I get you to build me a Mustang Classics based on a 1968, 1969 or 1970 Mustang?

A:

Absolutely, though pricing will have to be determined at a time immediately prior to the sale. Simply let your PSR know during your initial telephone conversation that you wish to order a later year Mustang as the foundation for your Classic and we will get to work on the Mustang to your specifications.
